Get Vendio Gallery – Now FREE! PHOTO HISTORY OF GRAND RAPIDS (Minnesota) AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES BICENTENNIAL 1776-1976 by Northprint Company, c1976, about 96 pages, paperback, lst edition–a supplement of the Grand Rapids Herald-Review. This is a very scarce pictorial history of Grand Rapids, Minnesota. This book does not have a Table of Contents nor an index. What is does have is a lot of wonderful old pictures. There are 2-3 pictures per page all done on monotone and usually with a small written history of that picture–just a great pictorial history of this area. VERY GOOD CONDITION — Slight soiling on both covers — a great history of Grand Rapids, Minnesota. The back cover has some pink spots (small) where something has been spilled on the book –there is also a crease about 1/2 the way down the outside of the back cover. This crease also affects the last 8 pages (4 pages on both sides). I think I accidentally made the crease when I was scanning pictures. CHECK OUT MY FEEDBACK (3,650+ POSITIVES) AND BID WITH CONFIDENCE–a great gift for yourself or someone else. Please see my other books on Hardin Co., Kentucky marriages. If you buy 2 Hardin Co. books, the shipping on the second book will be free. Please email if you have any questions and thank you for looking at my listings. Click here to see my other auctions.

***** New Name ***** We have recently opened a new eBay ID Southern Genealogy Books to better explain our products. Be sure and check out our eBay Store at Georgia Genealogy where we have over 800 books listed and over 5,000 feedbacks. ******************* Revolutionary War Pensions of Bedford County, Virginia Compiled by Ann Chilton, 1986 55 Pages, Full Name Index, Softcover, Reprint, New Condition Since the majority of Revolutionary War records for Bedford County are unavailable, this volume affords a brief glimpse into a time of hardship and deprivation and of a generation of men laying the foundation that today makes the United States great. Each entry contains the entire text of the pension application as written by the soldier or widow. The information in each entry differs but each contains a synopsis of the soldier’s military service. Example GROOMS, Jonathan; January 28, 1833, 77 Years of Age I entered service February, 1777 as a volunteer from the County of Bedford under Captain Terrill of the 5th Regiment. We marched to Carter’s Ferry on the James River thru Fredericksburg to Dumfries where troops were inoculated for small pox and remained several weeks. From Dumfries we marched thru Georgetown, Baltimore, Wilmington and on to Philadelphia. During this march, I had charge of the baggage wagon. The troops joined the army under General Washington at Philadelphia. I was engaged in this tour four months. At the expiration I was sent home to Bedford in charge of wagons and horses in June, 1777. In the fall of 1780 I was drafted from militia in Botetourt County and served three months. We marched to Chiswell in what is now Called Wythe County for the purpose of protecting the lead mines. I remained three months. I was discharged and returned home. ((continues with more info … then:))) I was born in London February 5, 1756. I was brought to this country when I was very young.

FAMILY ALBUM A PICTORIAL HISTORY of the MCLEAN FAMILY of GASTON COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA Compiled by Leon Leslie McLean Updated and arranged by Thelma Hodge McLean Edited by Geraldine Hagan Johnston Drawings by Rose McLean Whitesides Published by A PRESS, Greenville, SC, 1988 Undoubtedly one of the best family history books I have ever seen. Well-written with comprehensive research not only with the people but also placed in context with their region and era with great detail. Loaded with b & w photos, drawings, and copies of memorabilia. I am not connected to this family at all, yet I enjoyed reading the description of rural family life, the Great Depression, and other historical events as they related to this family. If you are connected to this family, then this is a true heirloom to treasure! There are too many associated surnames from the index to list, but here are a few that seemed to have the most family members listed: ADAMS—BRADLEY—CRAIG—DAVIS—GANT—GLENN—GRAY—HOKE—JACKSON—JENKINS—JOHNSTON—JORDAN—LEWIS—LOVE—-MACLEAN—-MCLEAN—RANKIN—-RHYNE—-ROBINSON—SMITH—SUGGS—WHITESIDES—WILSON—WORKMAN Condition is very good: Oversize hardcover (no dustjacket). Minor shelfwear at corners and along spine. Deep red leather-look cover with gilt on front & spine. Back cover has some ink smudges & a discolored spot (see pic). Front cover bright–one small area at bottom middle in the word “arranged” where the gilt has dulled. Interior pristine: 566 clean pages–no tears, stains, marks, creases, or odors. Binding good–no loose pages, but I would caution to handle with care as it is a very heavy (4lbs) book.

Shipping to Canada and Mexico by Global Priority Mail will be approximately $10.00 for up to four pounds. To Europe, Global Priority Mail will be approximately $11.00 for up to four pounds. If you are an International bidder, please do not use the Paypal button at the end of the auction. I will send you payment instructions at the end of the auction.
