2 Hours of Family Tree (Genealogy) Research I’m Bob Ausbourne, a professional genealogist for the past 10 years, member of the Assoc. of Professional Genealogists, a passionate family tree enthusiast for well over 40 years and former publisher of “The Genealogical Acorn”. My field of expertise is U.S. research. Whenever I have clients with research needs outside the U.S., I prefer to refer them to professionals in those geographical areas. My wife, Linda, also a professional researcher, is excellent at documentation and can assist greatly with proper data entry in family tree software programs. Our regular rate for research is $12 per hour. Here on eBay we are offering 2 hours of INTERNET research for as little as $3. Why? No hidden agenda, we simply want you to be lured in by the thrill of discovery, pleased with our work and have a desire for us to continue. We will never withhold any info that we find during our research. What we need from you is all pertinent data that you now possess regarding the line or lines that you want us to research. Full names (as best known), dates and locations of births, deaths and marriages, plus places of residence if not included in the vitals. Please do not withhold important information from us. We do not need to waste your money or our time playing “hide-and-seek”. Want to see our references? Just check our feedback. We have received wonderful response and have many satisfied clientele, some ecstatic. Check first to see if we are likely to be of help. Feel free to contact us in advance of bidding with data . We will be glad to take a fast preliminary search to see if we believe we can help. If we feel we can’t, we’ll notify you not to bid. Our web site (see About Me page) has an Ahnentafel page which will facilitate entering your family tree inquiry. This auction is meant as an introductory offer. We ask a favor, please refrain from bidding if you have already won in the last year, unless you are purchasing time for a friend or relative as a gift. *** Special Note *** We do Internet research only and can not work miracles with “brick wall” situations that involve ancestors from the 18th century and back. If a field researcher has already “cracked” the case and published info online, we can usually find it and pass it on. We have solved many conundrums for happy clients (see feedback). This usually involves situations where we can substantiate via census records and other published official records. On Mar-20-11 at 01:39:13 PDT, seller added the following information:

Ten Nights in A BarroomAnd What I Saw ThereBy T. S. Arthur, 1854240 pages, Illustrated, Indexed, Searchable – Bonus Book – The Temperance TalesIn Two VolumesBy Lucius M. Sargent, 1874301 + 332 pages, Illustrated, Indexed, Searchable – Bonus Book – Drinks, Temperanceand LegislationBy Arthur Shadwell, 1903334 pages, Indexed, Searchable ************************************************************************Digital CD Requires Adobe Reader 7 or higher to ViewAutoboot Menu for Easy Access; Manually Open on MAC************************************************************************ In 1873 the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union (WCTU) established a Department of Scientific Temperance Instruction in Schools and Colleges, with Mary Hunt as National Superintendent. The WCTU was an influential organization with a membership of 120,000 by 1879. Frances Willard led the group under the motto “Do Everything” to protect women and children. Some of the changes the WCTU sought included property and custody rights for women, women’s suffrage, raising the age of consensual sex, peace arbitration, women’s education, and advocacy for working rights of women. Because of the correlation between drinking and domestic violence—many drunken husbands abused family members—the temperance movement existed alongside various women’s rights and other movements, including the Progressive movement, and often the same activists were involved in all of the above. Many notable voices of the time, ranging from Lucy Webb Hayes to Susan B. Anthony, were active in the movement. In Canada, Nellie McClung was a longstanding advocate of temperance. As with most social movements, there was a gamut of activists running from violent (Carrie Nation) to mild (Neal S. Dow). PREFACE “This new temperance volume, by Mr. Arthur, comesin just at the right time, when the subject of restrictivelaws is agitating the whole country, and good and truemen everywhere are gathering up their strength for aprolonged and unflinching contest. It will prove apowerful auxiliary in the cause. “Ten Nights in a Bar-Room” gives a series of sharplydrawn sketches of scenes, some of them touching in theextreme, and some dark and terrible. Step by step theauthor traces the downward course of the temptingvender and his infatuated victims, until both are involvedin hopeless ruin. The book is marred by no exaggera-tions, but exhibits the actualities of bar-room life, andthe consequences flowing therefrom, with a severe sim-plicity, and adherence to truth, that gives to everypicture a Daguerrean vividness.” CONTENTS.
